Give yourself permission to heal!
Healing the impact of trauma, childhood or relationship wounds at their roots, one eye open at a time

Are you wondering why when you have tried hard to move forward, you often still feel stuck, or going around in circles?

You may have learned to understand why you feel the way you do, and maybe obtained helpful strategies to cope and yet still find that the same fear, shutdown, overwhelm, rage, relationship conflict or physical symptoms return?

T.R.I.P. as an integrative therapy not only helps to expose an in-depth light on the reason for the same responses to reoccur, it resolves the typical underlying conflict that not only drives these symptoms, it reinforces our old patterns and symptoms.

One part of you may desire more closeness, safety and trust, while another part of you desires to work hard to prevent further hurt and wants to make sure it will never happen again.
However, what once helped you cope to get through the hard times, now proves to hinder your nervous system, body, relationships and daily life from healing.

TRIP reveals and resolves this internal conflict of:
STAYING CONNECTED V.S STAYING PROTECTED AT ALL COSTS!

Examples of such cost are: ongoing isolation, chronic anxiety, resistant depression, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, OCD, restlessness, relationship betrayal, perfectionism, low self-esteem, or burnout just to name a few.

T.R.I.P. consists of three core processes: Projection, Permission and Compassion. These processes repair the nervous system impact of trauma and attachment distress, provide permission-based access to past experiences, and reveal why past experiences can continue to feel current.

T.R.I.P. is a highly integrative approach combining transformative eye–brain techniques—working with one eye open at a time—with attachment-focused, cognitive, emotional and body-based approaches. T.R.I.P. uniquely uses permission-based language, choice, consent and an in-depth internal permission seeking process, helps you to experience agency and autonomy during the therapeutic process.

T.R.I.P. facilitates differential access, by opening one eye open at a time, to the cognitive-emotional, somatic, explicit and explicit memories, and attachment aspects of past experiences. The integrative mix of therapeutic approaches offer safety, care, sense making, time-relevant information to past experiences that are stuck, and internal compassion, . T.R.I.P. repairs the impact of forced self-abandonment and restores connection between the ways we coped, survived, managed and pushed through with the parts of ourselves that had to be dismissed, minimized or left behind to survive.

T.R.I.P. provides a unique experience of regulation and integration of past experiences to regain having a voice and to live fully in the present

MONIQUE HOVING
THERAPIST - (MFT/RCC)

Many people come to therapy feeling stuck, overwhelmed, disconnected, or burdened by symptoms that seem resistant to change. Whether those symptoms appear as anxiety, depression, dissociation, chronic physical complaints, relationship difficulties, emotional overwhelm, or burnout, I believe they make sense when we understand the past lived experiences behind them. These experiences were not adequately or not cared for in ways they deserved, and as such they continue to live in our background yet influencing our current, daily life (whether we are aware of it or not).

As the developer of T.R.I.P. (Trauma-Attachment, Regulation & Integration Process), I am passionate about helping people understand how trauma, attachment injuries, and distressing life experiences continue to impact their brain, body, nervous system, relationships, and sense of self.  My work is grounded in the belief that true healing & growth requires more than managing symptoms (even though there is a time and a place for this too). It requires understanding how adaptive and survival strategies shaped our protective Parts. These protective parts however essential at the time, also impact our Wounded parts, those aspects of ourselves that live with the direct impact of our painful and distressing experiences.

Our early attachment patterns, and nervous system responses developed are deeply wired within us, and true healing requires repairing, reshaping and healing this. You may ask, "is this possible? " - the answer I discovered so far is, yes! However, it requires commitment, internal permission, regulation and integration.  T.R.I.P. offers a unique and integrative approach by combining eye-brain techniques, attachment repair, parts work, somatic strategies, nervous system regulation, and trauma-informed emotional processing. By working one eye open at a time, we gain access to different aspects of a person's internal world, helping uncover the conflict between staying protected and staying connected that often sits at the heart of trauma and attachment wounds.

My focus for you and others is to help people move beyond survival, reconnect with themselves, and create the healthiest, most meaningful life possible. It is a privilege to walk alongside clients as they heal, grow, and discover what becomes possible when the brain, body, nervous system, and relationships are given the opportunity to heal together.  You are welcome here, discover and learn what may be possible!
