Meet the RelationshipWorx Team
Monique Hoving, RCC Registered Clinical Counsellor – BCACC Developer of TRIP (Trauma-Attachment, Regulation and Integration Process) Founder of RelationshipWorx I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC) and the developer of the Trauma-Attachment, Regulation and Integration Process (TRIP), an advanced integrative therapeutic framework that brings together attachment theory, parts work, emotion focused therapy, neuroscience, somatic approaches, and unique eye-brain techniques. My clinical focus has always been on understanding how trauma and disrupted attachment dynamics from childhood shape the nervous system, the brain, body and our current lives. Over the years, I have developed a special expertise in working with unresolved developmental experiences, fragmentation, and the body’s communication through chronic symptoms. I believe healing requires an approach that honors the complexity of the whole person—mind, body, emotions, and relationships. Through TRIP, I help clients and practitioners alike reconnect with their authentic voice, restore internal coherence, and move toward lasting integration. I am passionate about advancing the field of trauma therapy through both clinical practice and training, equipping others with tools to address the deep impact of trauma with compassion, clarity, and effectivenes
It is an honor to be part of the healing process and to help you regain your life as you were meant to live it, with reduced influences of past trauma and a strengthened resiliency.
I highly value caring, compassion, connection, and competency in counseling. I am respectful, and I am deeply concerned about what matters to you right now. I have lived and worked in four countries during the past fifteen years.
I received my Bachelor of Communication Disorders at the HAN University of Applied Sciences in Nijmegen, Netherlands. When I worked as a Speech Therapist, I was always drawn to learning more about the psychological elements of voice disorders and stuttering.
Later I received my M.A. in Counseling Psychology at Yorkville University in Canada. I enjoy specializing in up-to-date trauma therapy modalities, like Internal Family Systems Therapy, TRIP (Trauma Regulation & Integration Process), Compassion-Focused Therapy, and Mindfulness.
I work with a strength-based biopsychosocial lens and aim to be culturally sensitive. Depending on your presenting situation, I utilize several evidence-based modalities to best support you.
With over fifteen years of experience in human resources, I have long been drawn to the emotional and relational aspects of workplace life—supporting individuals through stress, transition, and personal hardship. My work has centered on creating psychologically safe spaces and responding to distress with empathy, presence, and respect. As a counselling student, I am grounded in a person-centered, trauma-informed approach, honoring each client’s story, pace, and inner wisdom.
I am particularly drawn to Person-Centered Therapy, Somatic Therapy, and Adlerian Therapy, and I integrate these approaches based on the client’s needs. I also remain open to incorporating other evidence-based modalities when they may offer the best support for a client’s unique goals and circumstances.
My practice is also informed by an international work and living background, which has shaped my appreciation for cultural complexity and deepened my commitment to inclusive, anti-oppressive care. I am especially passionate about supporting individuals from diverse and marginalized communities and those navigating identity, belonging, and intergenerational experiences.
Therapy offers a unique space for reflection, integration, and transformation. My intention is to bring a warm, grounded, and curious presence into the room—to listen deeply, hold space safely, and walk alongside those seeking greater clarity, strength, and self-compassion.
